Note: CB/DB was added to ChurchMouse Development's offerings in 2001.  The following is feedback from three of the churches which migrated from CBW41 to CB/DB, in response to a satisfaction survey shortly after their conversion to CB/DB for improved church accounting and church management function.

General - New User (Sulphur Springs, Texas)"Just wanted to let you know that I have the CB/DB set up to do everything we need at the moment, and I am very happy with it.  The reports are great, and it is so much easier to enter data that the original version.  Thanks for your efforts, and thanks for providing the web site to keep it up to date."

Survey Responses from two early users relative to church accounting:

Re: Church Accounting - Offering Processing function:
bullet

User 1.  "36 - 40 [offering entries] and I spend about 1/2 hour every week.  It's a very easy process."

bullet

User 2.  "+/- 50 entries per offering sheet each week.  When the count sheet has been completed correctly, the data entry process takes about 10-15 minutes."

Re: Church Accounting - Check Writing function:
bullet

User 1.  "Between 45 - 50 checks a month.  It takes probably an hour a week, on average."

bullet

User 2.  "now that we have the kinks ironed out, it's a great (and fast!) process.  On average, we write +/- 45 checks per month.  I find it easier to write checks directly from the invoices/statements rather than using the [A/P Monthly] process.  If all is well, it takes about 20-30 minutes, including printing."

Re: Church Management - Overall usefulness and productivity:
bullet

User 1.  "I am really sold on ChurchMouse, particularly the new version.  The process is simple, and the reports give the vestry  the information needed, in an easy-to-read format."

bullet

User 2.  "It's great because I can now integrate the data in CMouse with other things I'm doing in MS Word, MS Access, etc."

Re: Outside Bookkeeping:
bullet

User 1.  "We use no outside bookkeeping service."

bullet

User 2.  "Outside bookkeeping? HAHAHA.  Seriously, though, we keep all books in house.  The treasurer reviews the transactions occasionally, and we have an internal audit annually with an outside audit recommended every five years or so."

Re: Auditability:
bullet

User 1. "Very easy to audit."

bullet

User 2.  "Can't comment on this part as I don't do the audit, and we were using the previous version [CBW41] last year so our auditor has not used the reports generated by this version [CB/DB].  Will let you know next year."

Other:

User 1.  "We also utilize the mailing label options which make great labels in the format we need.  The Stewardship area is great for generating quarter and annual statements for the members.  CB/DB makes balancing to the bank a breeze.  What makes the entire process even better is the customer service y'all provide.  I might add, I really, really, like the 941 report...."
