CB/DB's operating program is CBW5.mde
(ChurchBook for Windows Version 5), so named to associate it with the
copyrighted ChurchBook for Windows family. It requires Microsoft
Access 2002 (or higher) due to functional requirements in the development
process..
|
 |
The License Fees for CB/DB are:
 |
for the pure MS Access environment -$150
|
 |
for the Access Runtime environment -
$160 * |
 |
for current-year-supported users of CBW41 migrating
to CB/DB - $100. |
The fees
include support for the remainder of the first Calendar Year of usage. Support consists
of telephone and/or internet support as well as updates of the program.
Updates are posted on limited-access pages on this web site and can be downloaded at any time.
* The additional fee for the
Runtime environment is due to additional assistance required to support
installation in that environment, not for the runtime code itself.
For migrating users, conversion of CBW41 data to
the CB/DB tables is included also.
|
 |
Annual support fee after the first year
is currently $50. This support consists of the same telephone and/or
internet support as well as updates of the program. The primary support
mode for CB/DB is e-mail; telephone support is used when a problem is too
difficult to handle by e-mail.
|
 |
Product updates are posted
on annual limited-access pages on this web site and can be downloaded at any time.

CB/DB church accounting software runs
on Windows 98/ME/XP/Vista. There is no Apple/Mac version.
|
 |
CB/DB has full church fund accounting
capability. All income and expense accounts are RDB linked to a Fund,
which in turn is linked to an Asset. Thus income and expense
debits/credits track through to the associated funds and assets automatically.
Double entry is not needed; the system provides these entries through these linkages.
|
 |
You may also define Mega Funds,
and attach cross-asset funds to these Mega Funds for a consolidated view.
An example of a Mega Fund would be having a Building Fund, with its money
split between e.g. the Building Fund - Main Checking Account, the Building
Fund - Money Market Account, and multiple CDs, etc.
|
 |
CB/DB has full church accounting
function for Income, Expense, Funds, Family and Member records, and Member
attendance recording. Detailed
transactions of all income is related to the donor (when known) and the
purpose of each donation: when, from whom, how much, for what purpose and how
given. Similarly, detailed records of all expense transactions are kept,
relating the expenditures to the purposes for which the disbursements were
made: when, for what, how, and to whom. This is the foundation of both
the church accounting software and church membership software.
|
 |
You can view and sort
raw data if desired/required (not in the Runtime environment). You can dictate the sort sequence of the
forms that display the master records and the detailed transaction records.
|
 |
The full function of Family, member,
attendance, mailing, and export to MS Word and MS Excel provides the people
and analytical aspects of Church Management Software.
|
 |
In addition to the financial reporting,
there are also numerous reports available, such as church directory, telephone
listing, birthdays for a period, wedding anniversaries, who are members of
which groups, and what groups do members belong to, etc., all of which depend
on your setting up the member data to support them.
|
 |
CB/DB operates on a Local
Area Network. Instructions on how to set up the program to operate on a
LAN are included in the help file.
|
 |
CB/DB is designed for
churches which have greater church management software requirements which already have or
will need either Microsoft Office Professional or Microsoft Access 2002. Capability is maximized when used in MS
Office Professional environment. For example, reports or queries generated by the program may be
exported to Word or Excel; MS Word mail merge documents can use CB/DB tables or
queries for their data source.
|
 |
Users are able to
generate their own reports using Access 2002 (not in the Runtime
environment). ChurchMouse Development
will normally provide any requested reports free of charge, assuming the
tables contain all the necessary data and attributes.
