Assets

The assets of the church as used in this program are things of value belonging to the church. They are generally in the form of Land, Buildings, Furniture & Fixtures, or funds containing money or financial instruments. The simplest forms are the church building proper, its contents, and the land it is built on, and the bank account containing the moneys belonging to the church.

Within the financial assets, the moneys are subdivided into Funds and Liabilities, such as "Operating Fund", "Building Fund", "Federal Taxes Withheld".

A give asset can contain a virtually unlimited number of Funds and Liabilities.

The Asset Records are designed primarily for such things as bank Demand Deposit Accounts, Money Market Accounts, and Savings Accounts.

The Account Title is a name you make up, such as "Main Checking Account", "Memorial Fund Savings", "Operational Money Market Acct", etc., to make it easy for you to differentiate between your financial assets. The record also contains fields to allow you to discretely identify the asset, such as the Institution's Name (e.g., First National Bank), your account number within that institution, the address, telephone number, and name of the person who is your contact there.

From the Assets Account record, you can click on buttons to view the Fund and Liability Accounts that are included in (owned by) that asset.
