If you haven't already done so, you might want to take a minute to read the overview topic. It contains a lot of helpful information about getting around in and using CB/DB. You may also want to refer to the topic on how to implement CB/DB logically.
The Main Switchboard is the starting point for CB/DB. By clicking on the buttons, you will be taken to either a subsidiary switchboard, or a form that gives you other function:
| Family and Members of Families tables and related tables. This set of functions allows you to enter and update all data concerning Families, Pledging Units, Members of Families, Envelope Number assignments, and the like. | |
| Offering Processing Application. This is the primary application for entering weekly donations as well as inter-weekly random donations. | |
| Check Writing and Expense Related Applications. The main component of this area is the Accounts Payable process which allows the entry of manually written checks (off-line), and the preparation for the writing of single or multiple checks on-line. | |
| Accounting Tables. It is here that you manage the definition of your assets, funds, liabilities, income, and expense tables. Also included are access to the opening balances of your funds and liabilities (which control the opening balances of the assets that house them), and your annual and monthly budgets by income and expense accounts. | |
| Utility Tables and forms. These include the definitions of groupings in your accounting tables and user-defined groupings to allow you to group those reports as you desire for local reporting purposes. | |
| The Report Selector. This allows you access to all reports within the system. Any new reports will be added in the "Report" table which drives this selector. | |
| The Register of Services. This allows you to enter data concerning services which you hold, for data analysis and reporting purposes. | |
